How To : Apply Make-Up According To Your Eye Shape

Eye make-up is one of the most effective ways is brightening up  your look, as well as  excentuating your eyes. An important factor of eye make-up is the shape of your eye which can affect the look you are trying to create.

Almond Eyes: Most eyes are shaped like an almond nut. Almond eyes are very exotic and are easy to accentuate. To accentuate this eye shape, the trick is to use darker shadows to contour the crease and add depth. Begin by applying a soft shimmery beige from the lash line to the brow bone. Then sweep a matte chocolate brown into the crease using a windshield-wiper motion. Blend thoroughly and apply matte black liner that's slightly flicked out at the end to exaggerate your naturally extended shape.

Hooded Eyes: Hooded eyes have one eye fold or crease. With this eye shape, you should aim to create an illusion of depth. Those with hooded eyes should opt for flattening matte colours, as shimmer may result in a puffy look. Apply a deeper-toned matte shadow where the crease would be, making sure you blend away any harsh lines. Finish by smudging some of the same shadow along the lower lash line and topping it all off with mascara to open up the eye and make it look larger.

Large Eyes: Use deeper matte shades to tone down large eyes so they don't appear too intense. Shimmery shades can catch light and open up the eye, which would make the eyes appear larger. First draw a thick line on the top lid with a black pencil. Then use a pencil-shaped brush to smudge it into the lash line and over the lid. Use the same liner on the lower inner rims, connecting the top and bottom line on the inner and outer corners to close up large eyes even more.

Round Eyes: The round eye has a circular shape and is typically large in size. To soften it and create a more exotic appearance use an eye liner. Play down the roundness of the eye by only lining the upper lash lines and extending the tails out to add length.

Small Eyes: The trick to making small eyes look larger is to make lines look slightly blurred. Lining around the eyes with a black eyeliner pencil is key, focusing more on the outer corners. Then smudge it with a Q-tip for a softer effect.

Droopy Eyes: Whether the result of aging or genetics, droopy eyes can leave you looking sad and aged. There are ways to perk up sagging eyelids with the proper placement of your makeup. Begin by applying a light shade of shadow on the inner corner of the lids. Next lift the eyes by sweeping a brown shadow in the creases. Apply a sweep of black liquid liner on the upper lids while slightly lifting the line at the ends. By applying a light shade to the inner corners, deepening the creases and flicking up the liner at the ends, you are instantly creating the illusion of more lifted, more awake eyes.

Who Wore It Better?

With our eye always on the latest celebrity fashions, the style watch evolution has hit prime time. With television shows such as the E! network's Fashion Police, we are all fasinated with who wore what. But sometimes, celebrities are caught out wearing the same desinger duds.

So I ask you, who do you think wore it better...?

Sleek and oh so elegant, Gwyneth Paltrow and Mylene Klass stepped out both wearing Michael Kors. I personally prefer Gwyneth's version better, but do think Mylene's complexion compliments the dress.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree with this dynamic duo. Like mother, like daughter Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner must have traded outfits for a night, both spotted out wearing this gorgeous red lace Valention dress. For my personal taste I think that Kim wore it better, but will say it is also age appropriate on Kris.

Caught out both wearing the same street style, Miley Cyrus and Frankie Sandford from the UK girl group The Saturdays, both sported this striped pants. Designed by British label Motel, I think the girls look great. I love Frankie's toned down outfit and think it is much more easy to wear.
